 Jesus
Jesus is 24 and married with three young children and is employed at El Maguey Grill. Jesus has periodontal disease and a lot of tooth decay and crowding. His young friend, Jerry, came into the dental office to help Jesus enter the contest (Jesus speaks mostly Spanish) and said that Jesus is embarrassed and has a lot of pain in his mouth. Jesus said he is concerned about the “green lines on his teeth”. He also says, “I really need the makeover for the reason that I don’t have a lot of money to get them fixed and I really need my teeth cause I can’t eat half the stuff I like. The most important thing is I want to look nice when I’m with my friends or important people like business people.”

 Melissa
Melissa is 40 and married with 4 children. She works at Maple City Collision. Melissa has periodontal disease, a lot of broken and decayed teeth and has a lot of pain. Melissa says, “ I hate my teeth and I very rarely smile. I’m a mom of four great kids. I am proud of them and when I should be smiling for them, I am not because I am embarrassed. I have daughters who will marry soon and I want them to be proud of their mom. Also, I want my kids to invite me to school stuff and not have to be ashamed of me.”

 Ronald
Ronald is 40, and is a divorced father with two teenage children. He is “laid-off” from work. He drove almost an hour to get to the office to enter the contest. Ronald’s back teeth are almost all completely broken and decayed. He has gum disease and feels a lot of pain in his mouth. Ronald says, “ I am embarrassed and ashamed. I do not have access to dental insurance and even if I did, I couldn’t afford the repairs. I am and always have been a very easy going, positive, happy person who loves to joke and smile. I cannot do this now without feeling self-conscious about my teeth. I have recently quit smoking and am working hard to maintain good physical health. I understand that good oral health is imperative to this. I’ve struggled financially to put braces on my daughter and would love to have a great smile as well! Family pictures are coming soon and I’ve not smiled openly in a long time. I would so appreciate it if Aegis Dental would choose me to receive a smile makeover. Thank you!

Stacey
Stacey is 40 and married with adult children and is employed at BP Oil.  Stacey has a lot of decay and infection as well as periodontal disease. She is in a lot of discomfort. Stacey says, “I feel bad. I can’t smile because my teeth are so bad and I work in the public and a smile says everything about a person. I want to feel better about myself. I will have more confidence, which I don’t have any now. A new smile would make my mom proud to see me looking good again.”
